These guides are being put together from input of ourselves and other boaters. They are mainly geared to the requirments of barge owners where depth of mooring and good bollards are important. We are very keen to receive information to keep these guides up to date. Please feel free to drop us an email if you find things different from what we have told you. This information is being put together from hand written notes from five years of cruising. Should you need details of a particular canal that does not yet feature on this guide, please drop me a note and I can do that one next. Please be patient. The bulk of the data should be in place by Spring 2003.
We have found on our travels that you tend to follow a narrow ribbon of canal and miss important places close by because they are not on the canal map. Our guides incorporate diverse links that are to tourist information sites on your route. These are in English were possible. We hope in this way to give you a broader idea of the area through which you are travelling. Where there is a good canal guide already we do not intend to reproduce it but will give you a link to it instead.
